Welcome to the Lab and Friends

Current Lab Members

Principal Investigator

Sung Kweon Cho, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor,

Department of Pharmacology, Ajou Univeristy School of Medicine

Hello,

I am Sungkweon. I started my lab in September 2021 (Ajou University, School of Medicine). I started uric acid research with serendipitous finding of asymptomatic hypouricemia during Phase 1 trial screening. The prevalence of hypouricemia in Korean is higher than European or African population.  We’re trying to solve the background using genetic epidemiology, metabolomics, and population genetics.

I happened to be impressionistic connoisseur after visiting Renoir collection in Barnes Foundation Gallery, The Phillips Collection (D.C), and the Cone Collection at BMA. I also like classical music and skiing.

My favorite quote is “Solvitur Ambuloando.”
